Is it possible to work as a part-time teller with Wells Fargo?

Can I work part-time as a teller with Wells Fargo? Can I work as a part-time teller with Wells Fargo while being a student?

I am a full-time student but have some hybrid courses that require me to be on campus Tuesday and Thursday mornings until noon. I have an upcoming interview for a 20-hour teller position. Do they accommodate school schedules like this? The branch operates from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, so meeting the 20-hour requirement should be feasible.

Also, for anyone familiar with Wells Fargo, is the hours limit capped at 20 hours for this position, or do they sometimes allow up to 25 hours?

You might want to consider looking into positions at in-store locations where hours are longer. I was able to manage being a full-time student while working full-time by scheduling my classes for just two days a week, or sometimes three days in some semesters. On the other weekdays, I worked from opening to closing. In-store locations also tend to have extended hours, including weekends.

It depends on your schedule needs, but working at a traditional branch may be more challenging due to their standard operating hours.

I am a branch manager. Typically, the standard would be 20 hours as advertised, and the manager will likely require you for specific days. While there isn’t a fixed 20-hour schedule, the manager probably already has an idea of what your regular schedule will be like. If the branch operates Monday to Friday without Saturday hours, it’s usually quieter, with shifts typically covering lunch from 10 AM to 2 PM, or on Mondays, Fridays, and holidays.

After your interview, you can ask them directly about how they plan to schedule your hours. I don’t see this as a red flag at all. Regarding additional hours, if your area is similar to mine (which it likely is), there are plenty of opportunities for extra shifts and overtime. If you’re interested in picking up more hours, let the branch manager and district manager know that you’re available to work shifts across the district that fit around your school schedule. From my experience, Wells Fargo is very flexible.
