In the event that a service is not rendered, may I receive my money back from Zelle?

I have a room above my garage that’s always uncomfortable—too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

I paid $2900 for attic and garage insulation, but the temperature issue persists. They found blocked vents filled with insulation and only partially fixed them after I pushed back. They blame my windows now and refuse further help.

Paid $200 by credit card (considering chargeback); rest via Zelle. Can I get a refund? Who can I report this to? Can they restore my garage wall?

Probably not. You approved the payment.

They did not give good services, but they did not engage in fraud. Zelle did what you asked (sent them money).

You may have a claim against the corporation, but it is between you and them, not Zelle.

As someone who has been scammed on Zelle, I’ve learned that if a service is not rendered, I may be eligible to receive my money back. Zelle has recently begun refunding victims of impostor scams, which include situations where someone pretends to be a government agency, bank, or existing service provider. This change is a major shift from the company’s previous stance, where they did not provide refunds for authorized transactions. Now, if I’ve been tricked into sending money to a scammer, I can file a claim with Zelle and potentially receive a refund. This is a significant step forward in protecting consumers from fraud and ensuring that they are not left out of pocket. I can report the scam to Zelle through their website or by calling their dedicated hotline, and they will work to recover the funds from the recipient’s account and return them to me.
