Waiting on a replacement card... should I go to the bank?

Hey, this is my first post. So, I ordered a replacement debit card from BoA over a week and a half ago, but it still hasn’t shown up. My old card got damaged (don’t want to get into how), and every time I call, they just tell me the same thing—‘4-6 business days’ or that I can order another replacement through the app. I’m getting frustrated because I can’t even pump gas, and it’s been too long already. Would it be okay to go to a branch and ask for a replacement there, even though I’m still waiting on the first one?

Not all banks, or even all branches, can issue cards directly.

Might as well go and check.

It can sometimes take up to two weeks. Usually, banks print and mail cards in batches, so it might take a few days just to get printed. If it’s been longer than expected, you can always ask for a new one.

Most bank branches don’t issue cards on the spot anymore, so mail might be your only option. If you have a smartphone, you can access your card info in the BoA app and add it to digital wallets like Google Pay or Apple Pay. That way, you can still make purchases until the physical card arrives. Otherwise, you might need to withdraw cash from a branch in the meantime.
