My Payoneer account has been blocked, and I know the chances of getting it reopened are low. But I still have funds in the account, and I need to figure out how to withdraw them. Has anyone successfully recovered their money after a block? Any advice would be really helpful.
Do you know why it was blocked, and how long had you been using the account? Usually, they freeze accounts for 6 months, then allow a temporary login so you can withdraw your funds before blocking it permanently. But in some cases, they refund the payments instead.
@Bret
They didn’t give me a reason for the block. If they decide not to release my funds, does that mean the money is gone forever?

Not telling you and you actually not knowing are two different things. Are you sure you didn’t do anything that might have triggered it?

They usually allow withdrawals after 6 months. How long had you been using the account before it got blocked?
Was this a personal or business account? What kind of transactions were you making? Were the payments from individuals or businesses? Also, where is your business registered, or where were you using the account from?
@Mark
Are all these things reasons they block accounts?

Yes. If you check other blocked account complaints, people often reveal they transferred large amounts from crypto exchanges or sent personal payments, which Payoneer doesn’t allow. Asking OP if they contacted support is also useful, but their support has gotten worse over time.
@Lane
I think their service varies depending on the region. I’m in Africa and tried to open an account, but it got rejected during verification. They kept asking for my utility bill, and every time I uploaded it, they rejected it. Then my account got blocked. When I contacted support, I was completely ignored.
Maybe your account was flagged for crypto-related transactions, especially if it was used for P2P trading.
Payoneer does this a lot. Their policies seem designed to block people for vague reasons, especially personal users. They’ve been doing this for years. Sometimes there’s no real reason—they just block accounts and hold onto the money. I wish people would stop defending them. This is a legal scam.
Sorry you’re dealing with this.
