Tomorrow is my first day as a bank teller. I have some plain-colored clothes, but I’m considering wearing a baby pink vest with a matching pink hair bow (normal size). I’d pair it with a black long-sleeve shirt, black slacks, and black boots. Is it appropriate to wear baby pink, or should I stick to more neutral colors?
This sounds like something that might have been covered in the onboarding packet or orientation. If not, go ahead and wear it if you feel confident! Good luck on your first day!

I didn’t get a packet. When I asked my boss, he just said, ‘something nice.’ Thanks for the encouragement!
Honestly, it sounds like a cute outfit.

It is a nice outfit, but I’m wondering if pink is appropriate for the setting.

I’ve worked in banking my whole career, though not in a branch. At my office, it would definitely be considered appropriate. I think most clients wouldn’t find it out of place either.
If it’s your first day, you might just be going through training. Dress codes for training are often a little more relaxed.
It might depend on the type of bank. Is it a smaller credit union, a big-name bank like Chase or BOA, or a local bank?
You can definitely wear the vest. As for the hair bow, I’d probably wait until you’ve been there a while to see what’s considered professional in your branch. First impressions are important, and you want coworkers to take you seriously.
This sounds like a Minnie Mouse-inspired outfit!
