How to get a voided check

I require a voided check for my new job to provide my account details for payroll. However, I won’t have a checkbook in time. I’ve researched and found that I can obtain a voided check from my bank as an alternative. Any insights on this process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you need a voided check but don’t have a checkbook, there are several alternatives you can consider.
The first one which is the main one is visiting your local bank branch and asking a teller to print out a blank check for your account, which you can then void.
The next one is checking if your online banking platform allows you to download an image of a check or provides an option for a voided check which you can print

Depending on your bank, you can probably download a direct deposit form through online banking or have one printed for you if you just walk in. It has identical information to a voided check.

This is actually the correct procedure to follow.
@Vanice maybe if you need a voided check in the future when you get your notebook, just tear off a check from your checkbook. Using a pen with blue or black ink, write the word “VOID” in large letters across the front of the check. You can also write “VOID” in the payee line, amount line, amount box, and signature line instead.
