Have you ever initiated a dispute for a Zelle transaction?

I have Bank of America, and someone used my phone to send money. I’ve disputed this twice with my bank, but they rejected my claim because the transfer was made from my iPhone. I filed a police report stating my phone was taken and used to send money to the person’s account. Despite this, my bank is skeptical but suggested involving the police to subpoena the recipient’s account. Today, I’ll request police assistance again. Has anyone managed to successfully dispute a Zelle transaction under similar circumstances?

hi madam boss, to be prudent is,If you’ve approved a payment but encounter an issue like not receiving goods or services, it’s advisable to reach out to the recipient initially to request a refund. Should this approach be unsuccessful, you can consider initiating a dispute with your bank.

unauthorized transactions were made via Zelle from my Bank of America account. Despite initially being skeptical, the bank ultimately investigated and refunded the amount after I provided evidence, including a police report. The key was persistence and providing all documentation promptly. Contacting the police and involving them in obtaining information from the recipient’s account can strengthen your case. Keep following up with both the bank and the police, emphasizing the unauthorized nature of the transactions and any evidence you have. It may take time, but escalation and providing clear evidence should help in disputing the transactions successfully.

Hey…I haven’t personally initiated a dispute for a Zelle transaction, but it’s generally handled through your bank or credit union. Contact your bank’s customer service to report unauthorized transactions or disputes, as Zelle itself does not offer purchase protection.

hallo jennifer, hear, your bank will start a dispute procedure, which may involve completing a form or submitting extra documents. Prepare to clarify why you think the transaction is incorrect or unauthorized.

You won’t get it back unless the bank gets it back, which is not likely.
