Because my phone was stolen, I had two fraud cases denied, and they wouldn’t assist me. I opened this ridiculous account solely to receive the $400 bonus, and as soon as the money arrives, I’m shutting it. Screw this bank.
Did you have a pin/passcode/touch/faceid/etc on it? I can’t speak to every phone but my bank’s app won’t open without a second authentication, e.g. not enough to unlock the phone have to then unlock the app using a password or biometrics.
It doesn’t seem like Huntington’s fault, hmm. You may access your bank account on your phone with no security at all? It sounds like you’re to blame for this.
All banking applications require you to input your password or use biometrics every time you log in. It is well-known that having a security lock on your phone is essential. This is why your claim was rejected. This is a common occurrence across almost all banks.
In 99% of these instances, the root cause is either someone sharing their password and being dishonest about it, or engaging in dubious activities and then lying about it. They typically cannot provide a plausible explanation for how someone gained access to their password.
I strongly advise anyone considering Huntington to think twice. There are far better banking options out there.
