Cashiers Check without an account

I’m looking for a bank that will sell me a Cashier’s Check without requiring me to have an account there. I’m willing to pay a fee and provide cash. Any suggestions on banks that offer this service?

If you need a cashier’s check but don’t have a bank account, try checking with local credit unions or smaller banks they might help you out. Be ready to pay with cash and show your ID. Money orders are another option, good for smaller amounts, available at post offices and some stores. Always check their rules and fees first.

Banks normally require you to have an account with them before issuing you a cashier’s cheque. This is for security purposes. Some banks may offer you one even if you don’t have an account, but this is uncommon. Instead, you may check with a few local banks to see whether they do. Credit unions may also be a possibility, particularly if you already have a membership there.

A money order may be a more convenient choice. Money orders are similar to cashier’s checks, except they can be purchased in a variety of locations without a bank account, including the post office, Western Union, and some convenience stores. The disadvantage is that money orders often have a lower maximum balance than cashier’s checks. Check with the person you’re paying to see if a money order would be okay.

Wells Fargo may issue cashier’s checks to non-customers for a fee, typically around $10. It’s best to call ahead to confirm this service is available at your nearest branch.
