Like the title says, I’m wondering if it’s possible or legal to link my PayPal account to my Cash App card and then link my Cash App account to my PayPal card. Has anyone done this or knows if it’s doable?
I think you can link your Cash App card. It’s legal, and if they don’t want you using certain cards, they’ll block them. Just try linking it and see what happens.
This sounds like there could be issues with anti-money laundering rules. You should be careful about linking accounts that aren’t under your name. If something goes wrong, they might close all of your accounts. It could look like fraud or money laundering.
@Grey
I’m the owner of both accounts.
You mentioned that someone else is using one of your accounts for income. Is her name on the account? This could lead to tax issues. Her income should really go into her own account.
@Grey
She doesn’t have a job, and she’s not old enough to pay taxes yet. She also doesn’t have any accounts in her name.

That’s unusual. If she’s not old enough to have an account, why is she getting money? She should have an account for minors. If you keep doing this, it might cause trouble with banking authorities, and you could lose access to these accounts.
What exactly do you mean by linking the cards? What’s your goal?

I mean linking the cards like adding a bank card on PayPal or Cash App. My goal is to avoid charges to my bank account. My friend uses my PayPal for TikTok earnings, but sometimes she spends more than she makes, and it pulls from my bank account. I want to link my Cash App card to PayPal instead since Cash App doesn’t have overdraft protection.
@Lyle
Why is your friend’s TikTok money going into your account? That sounds sketchy, and it could cause tax problems. But in terms of linking the card, you can try it. It might work, but I’m not sure if PayPal will reject the transaction.
@Hartley
It does sound shady, but it’s easier since it’s complicated for her to set up PayPal in her country. I don’t think it’ll reject the transaction because she only uses PayPal, and I don’t keep money in Cash App.
@Lyle
It depends. I don’t know if PayPal charges the linked card immediately or not. You didn’t make it sound less shady, just more sketchy.

I just don’t know if it’s legal or even possible.
@Lyle
Why wouldn’t it be legal to link a debit card to PayPal? Are you worried because you’re already doing something shady?

I’m just concerned because I’m linking PayPal back to the Cash App card.
@Lyle
I don’t see how that’s an issue. What do you think could happen?

My concern is that if she spends more than she has, PayPal will pull from Cash App, and Cash App might try to do the same with PayPal, creating a loop of charges between the two.
@Lyle
That could definitely cause some issues with the way they’re linked.
@Lyle
Your friend should really open her own accounts before you run into serious trouble. This sounds like it could lead to tax issues or other legal problems.
@Lyle
This might be against Cash App’s terms of service. You might want to check their terms first.
