I think I’ve been scammed and I don’t know what to do. I ended up sending over £300 to someone through the friends and family option. The payment is showing as an e-check and is supposed to clear on the 15th, but when I spoke to my bank, they couldn’t see anything on their end, so they said they can’t help. I’ve removed the money from my account, hoping that maybe it will bounce, but unfortunately, a direct debit for my phone just came out, leaving my balance in the negative. I’m really stressed and can’t afford to lose this money. Any advice?
Friends and family payments don’t come with any kind of protection, so unfortunately, there’s probably not much you can do here. Really sorry to hear this happened to you, mate. Just a rough lesson to go through.
Maybe try changing your password. Sometimes that can cancel recent pending transactions. If that doesn’t work, call PayPal and ask if they can stop it.
